One of the best English Heritage sites in the entire country. Loads to see and do, great for picnics and loads of space for the kids to rub about. Lovely on a bright day, and the lookout over the channel can really wake you up! One thing to take into account is the wind, we've been a few times when the wind speeds have been over 70 miles per hour, resulting in large parts of the site being closed for health and safety reasons.

A super interesting tour that is offered which walks you through WWII history and the operation of evacuating soldiers from Dunkirk. Lasts about 45 minutes and is held frequently throughout the day. A lot of history to learn about, and the rooms and equipment inside are well preserved. Definitely worth visiting.

Mind blowing experience, I have to say that the premises is steeped in the history of the country, and a mind blowing experience on a prolonged visit. Staff on site were very excellent and helpful. Well worth a prolonged visit to the premises in the near future for a person who is looking for a experience to enjoy and view a place steeped in history of the country. Well worth a look at the premises on a summer day as the view's are spectacular.

The Castle is wonderful and well maintained. There is a lot of people working around the let the magic happens. The are so proud of what they have done. And you can feel it in each story they say. Such a hard work to keep everything together, and it's worth it for the beauty you'll find walking around the big area, and the tours.

If you visit dover castle be sure to to visit the hospital and army/navy base found deep beneath the cliffs. It's a guided tour and is very authentic the sounds and sights . The hospital is where they tended and bought over 26,000 rescued solders from the shores of Dunkirk...amazing .a little over whelming for children under 12 I would say. I took my grandchildren of 10 and under but had yet to learn the history behind the things they were looking at .so would advise be more beneficial for teens and adults ..I loved the experience and would recommend it .can't wait to take my two sisters
