This is an SSI site and there are many items of interest of flora and fauna to be enjoyed. It’s much more than somewhere to walk dogs especially if you’re prepared to get your shoes muddy.

Nice woods with plenty of hard and soft tracks with a few ponds dotted around. Altogether an enjoyable area to walk the dog.

Nice walks with a little natural play area and quite a large pond, with lots of ducks. There are a number of benches at both, making them ideal for families. Lots of dog walkers too. The main paths are reasonably wide, so you can actuallly social distance on these too. The car park does get quite busy, but I've never not been able to find a space (so far)...

The common is looking dry due to lack of rain. Some streams are dry and the pond water levels are low. Canada geese and ducks don't seem to mind though. Generally the common is still pretty good with plenty of vegetation and many varied birds evident.

Good accessibility for wheelchair users on the bridleways which are extensive and signed. Absolutely wonderful for wildlife! Butterflies are a particular highlight in summer with white admirals and purple emperors. Fabulous mix of native British trees giving shaded walkways.
