Outstanding service at short notice this afternoon. The team at Crosby are professional they put you at ease then explain clearly what the issue is. Highly recommended to look after your eyes and give you the correct treatment. Better than the service offered in the eye hospital.

Pretty awful experience. Which is a shame, because In the 10 years I’ve been coming here, I’ve always thought the service was really great - and I’ve spent a lot of money on glasses/lenses here too. I Went in today for an appointment where I planned to see wether my eyesight had improved via a sight check, as For 2 years I’ve been gradually taking my prescription down & the optician I had (in the same shop) was happy with my improvement so the plan was to keep taking it down gradually, with the ultimate goal of eventually having a less strong prescription. The optician who came in (Irish in his 40’s/50’s) came in with quite an attitude. He started the conversation off by saying he’d seen the records of my prescription being lowered & didn’t agree with it (well he should take that up with the other optician not me... I didn’t write it!) Everytime I tried to speak, he would speak over me and Kept repeating the mantra that he didn’t believe what I was doing and that he wasn’t prepared to take my prescription down lower (even though we hadn’t even got to the sight test yet to see wether There had been any improvement). I said To him ‘there is no reason to get angry with me. Could you please not interrupt me as I haven’t finished what I was saying’ - I told him I had only come to get an eye test and see wether my sight had improved, as I had done the past 3 times- and he kept angrily talking over me saying ‘I refuse to take your prescription down’ ‘I refuse to and you’ve come here to try and get it down haven’t you’ - well I had come to pay for an eye test to see wether my sight had improved & buy glasses plus contacts - but it didn’t appear as though he was going to let me. As he kept getting more loud and angry, I thought: this is totally disgraceful behaviour - I’m leaving. So Isaid to him: ’I’m afraid I’m going to have to go as I don’t think you should be shouting at me like this’. I’ve really never felt so berated in an opticians or place of business in my entire life. just wanted an eyetest - I didn’t need a lecture or someone to get angry with me. If my eyetest hadn’t had improved I still needed a new pair of glasses and contacts - so effectively he’s lost the business a couple hundred quid worth of sales. Wether he agreed with my prescription gradually getting lowered or not - he should have taken it up with the optician who had done it for me the previous 3 times and allowed me to pay for a sight check. He had no right to be rude and angry with me. I walked out of the appointment thinking, either he’d had a really, really bad day or perhaps he was just fundamentally against people trying to improve their eyesight naturally. He should not have taken this out on me. I did nothing wrong, I was extremely polite and open. I just never got the chance to see wether my sight had improved. So I’ll be doing that elsewhere, and whatever they suggest, if they don’t shout at me, I’ll be following their advice.

Amazing service and they identified what the problem was straight away and were able to give me a pair of glasses that will make my life so much easier. Incredible service and lovely staff
