Easy to find, well worth a visit. Get to the British cemetery then go down the side and follow the road into the countryside. Small carpark by the entrance.
Allow 2 hours for a good wander round, I think this is the best German war cemetery I have visited and I have visited a few in main land Europe. It is peaceful, well laid out and pleasant. In the visitor block there are well kept clean toilets which is always a bonus.
A peaceful and tranquil setting for the soldiers who died a long way from home. Have known about it for years as my school was nearby but never visited until now. So different to the normal cemetery setting set among the trees and gentle slopes.
There is a small tarmacked car park alongside the cemetery, however, this is good place to stop when on a walk across Cannock Chase.
It is well maintained and there are toilet facilities provided.
A quiet, peaceful place where it is nice to sit, relax and contemplate
I was surprised this cemetery was just on our doorstep..always knew it was there but didn't realise it's size. Touching experience visiting knowing many young men lost their lives on British soil far from their families & loved ones. Really brings home the scale of loss from the two world wars. A great place for education & contemplation.
Good area to walk,cycle, and for dogs walks. Decent shoes needed as can be hilly and muddy. Easy to keep distance from others and everyone on my visit made that effort to keep apart.
Great for exercise and some much needed fresh air
