My husband and I have eaten at some fabulous places worldwide and this is a hidden Gem - given the location. However, the service in terms of dining (i know this is particular before people bite my head off) but our knives and forks we placed down odly and we waited 20 minutes until a member of staff asked for our drinks. So I wouldn't say this is a fine dining experience rather a casual experience. The decor was lovely and very well put together which makes customers feel almost at home and relaxed. The food is put together well and some of the food was absolutely delicious- other dishes quite bland.. but again that depends on taste buds. The staff very welcoming. Overall a 3 from me ❤❤

A brilliant gem of a restaurant good covid measures in place Alex and his front of house and bar staff team are warm welcoming and friendly. The food is brilliant tastes amazing lovely presentation the kitchen team do a great job and they source local produce where they can. The dinning area has lovely decor and feels warm and cosy. I would highly recommend a visit for a meal and a pint.

Beautifully seasoned, flavoured and cooked. Not the biggest main portions, but an additional side dish shared was spot on. Sat in the new orangery looking out onto the refurbed garden. Waitress was lovely and very attentive. Excellent all round. Thanks

This was my second visit to the Roost. I have previously visited with my partner and the quality of food is outstanding. The lunch design was a very broad tapas range. After trying pheasant for the first time here months prior, I felt safe to try something else new again too. I opted for the crispy squid, brisket with mushroom and vegetable dumplings. Given the size of the party, I will only address my own food. The brisket was served with a mushroom dumpling and a rich sauce. The mushroom dumpling tasted good but when combined with the brisket, it was ten-fold better. The brisket was gorgeous and fell apart with ease and the sauce just tied it all together. I would definitely eat an upscaled plate at a later date. The vegetable dumplings weren't to go down without a fight though and tasted excellent. I cannot recall which vegetables were in there exactly but I can recall the Vietnamese dip that was served with them. The dip was more like a soup, to be frank, and complimented the dumplings incredibly well. Last up was the crispy squid. Forewarning, I don't eat seafood often but I chose to make an exception for this plate. The batter was a tad salty for some and the squid wasn't the chewy nightmare I was expecting. I was completely surprised. There was a side sauce served too which tastes very tomato like and dampened down the saltiness. This is by far the best squid I have ever tasted. Overall, I will be visiting here again for definite
