It's a lovely place to walk round, where you do the gardens, the walks, the house or all 3. Steeped in history, there's also the ruin of the old Hall across the way (English Heritage, but they do allow NT members in). The gardens are lovely to walk around, a vast array of horticulture on display, with certain flowers that you can rub the leaves and smell (my daughter loves this). The gardens are big enough for little ones to run around (mine certainly enjoy that!) Plus you can end the day with an ice cream, hot chocolate (a firm favourite with my 3) or a trip to the Hardwick Inn on the way out (a must!). A very good day out all around.

This was my first trip anywhere since March. I felt safe everywhere and as said before the staff were friendly and helpful. Some of the gardens were a bit weedy but the gardens in front of the house were gorgeous. It turns out there are 2 staff who are doing it all and usually there are 10 volunteers doing the beds! So how impressive is that! Well done NT!

Pleasant socially distanced walkabout. The ticket system was easy to use. Staff were helpful explaining the changes. There was a one way system in the shop and cafe. The toilets were open too. We felt safe and enjoyed our walk around the gardens.

Great walks around the grounds. Would have liked to rake a peek inside but it was not to be!

The tapestries were fabulous and many told or you could invent a story. On top wonderful sculptures, paintings and many other exhibits. The staff were very helpful and enjoyed not only answering my questions but showing little things others might miss. The gardens were fabulous and inspirational. Covid rules observed and everyone was happy to abide.
