In my short time with the surgery they asked me to have 3 tests, 2 urine and 1 bloods. They lost the results of the first urine test and so I had to do another. They've now lost the results of my bloods but hey at least at least they have a record of me actually doing the test this time unlike the urine test. I've asked them one thing, to get a copy of my notes as I've got a long term illness that requires treatment. I asked for the notes back in October. It is now January and they've had to push for getting the notes twice. When I first joined the surgery, my initial appointment with the doctor resulted in him augmenting my medication. How he know to do that without my notes is nothing short of witchcraft and clairvoyance. I'm now coming out of a really dark place after the holidays and tried to make an appointment. I'll have to wait about a week and a half. Not bad all things considering I'm only suicidal and they know this.

The experience I've had with Dr. Watkins has been great, there was also a female doctor there who was very sympathetic and took extra precaution with my illness. Upstairs was bad, didn't really take into account my knowledge on the subject or the fact my problem was chronic during childhood. Reception are normally decent and waiting times for me weren't that bad. They do need to have dedicated receptionists at the window that don't take calls because my goodness I had to queue behind 2 people for 10 minutes to be seen, and both windows had people sitting there taking calls instead. I also didn't like the phone call with the nurse. She broke news to me of a test I needed very bluntly and didn't answer any questions I had, she told me to come in before a certain time "because that's when she'll be in" and then didn't actually see me, she just wanted me to drop the sample off at reception, for a test I was really worried about and wanted consultation. Also I think doctors notes for students should not be £20 a pop, I needed to pay 40 just for extenuating circumstances that I desperately needed

Good surgery with a good system in place and helpful staff. Its quite easy to get appointments or prescriptions within a week. Their website is a little dated but in house everything is fine

Had the most stressful experience in this surgery, actually led me to the point of tears. It's clear there is complete disregard for students in this surgery, they don't even transfer your medical records following registering, i registered in October to North Road Surgery, and by May they had not requested my records. I heard from many other students who have had similar negative experiences with the reception staff but didn't think it would actually be the exact same for me. They all act like they are doing you a favour! WOULD RECOMMEND NOT SWITCHING FROM YOUR HOME SURGERY TO THIS ONE IF YOU ARE A STUDENT- it is extremely difficult to get anything done. Never returning, Will have to find somewhere else in Cardiff.

Appointments take minimum of 2 weeks, typically 3 weeks to get. Once there the wait time at least 30 minutes, typically closer to 45 minutes after your appointment from my experience. Staff are impolite and don't listen, don't bother it's been like this for the past 2 years I've used them. Worst GP I've ever had.
