Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists - Croydon Church Street

Fast and friendly service with a smile. Both pairs of glasses were available quickly and staff went completely above and beyond for me. Simone was an absolute diamond and was super helpful. Had never used a specsavers before, definitely won me over 😁

Usually I am not one for complaints but I have just had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Also thought that you should know so that you could take some action as this impacts the heath of customers and other staff. Arrived before 17:00 for my appointment at 17:10 but there were 2 people ahead of me waiting/blocking the entrance so had to wait behind them, outside on the road in the rain. Where I was forced to wait was behind a market stall without adequate space for people to get by without coming within 0.5m of me. Clearly this was not thought of as there was plenty of space to wait inside the store but a sign at the entrance telling people to queue outside. When I was seen to at 17:20, after waiting 20 mins outside in the rain, I was then told you are now late and the optician has gone home for the day and they have no other opticians available. My appointment was at 17:10 and so I thought that this was rather ridiculous and asked to make a complaint to the manager. The receptionist said sorry the manager is on the phone (without even looking to check) and I said that’s fine, I’ll wait for the manager here. When she then actually went to check, the manager came over 5 seconds later (clearly not on the phone) and said you have arrived late. Told her I had been waiting outside and there had been people in the queue ahead of me. She said that’s not true we are not that busy today, clearly not in touch with what is actually happening in the store. It was at this point the optician appeared out of the back door, said bye to the other staff and left for the day. The manager gave me her name as Cerene, who also had her mask on upside down, was not sympathetic or apologetic at all. Told her I wanted to raise a complaint and she said that’s it you’ve told me. She didn’t even offer to book another appointment or an apology. Hopefully you are able to take action and adequately train your staff to be more courteous and covid aware so that the public are able to have fewer indirect Covid related deaths from going to your stores.

Becky is fantastic. She gives good customer service and was patient and thoughtful when helping me choose my frames. I much prefer this branch to my previous visit to specsavers in North End..

Nice place the staff were very friendly and helpful and all foreseeable precautions were taken in this time of chaos.

Specsavers is pretty expensive but the staff are great there. Really friendly and helpful!
