Had a regular eye test which was fine, then the Optometrist offered me a contact lens trial. At no point was there any mention of me paying for this contact lens trial, after booking the appointment, I checked on the Specsavers website and saw clearly they offer a free trial for contact lenses, this is what I thought I was getting. On arrival at my appointment i was advised that there was a fee of £25 for the trial, I said I thought it was a free trial, and was told that it wasn't on offer, further i asked if there were any free trials for contact lenses and was told it was not on offer. There was definite pressure to get this paid trial sold, anyone less prepared to just get up and walk out may have been pressured into it.

I cannot truly find any fault in my experience with specsavers. The staff is polite and helpful, they have a decent range of glasses frames and they delivered the glasses just in time.

Took a punt on Specsavers when the 1st lockdown ended as my usual optician is on the other side of London. Paid £154 for eye test and new glasses which never felt right from day one. Wanted to get a second eye test from my usual optician, but due to the disruption caused by the Covid pandemic, had to wait ages for an appointment. Finally got to see him last week. He confirmed that Specsavers had given me the wrong prescription. Went back to Specsavers the next day. Was told I’d have to pay another £100 to fix their mistake. Obviously I declined. Disgusting. Will never visit Specsavers again due to their disgraceful business practices. If I could give a zero star review, I would.
