This is not my normal branch.  I was working in the area.  They appear to have a new automated touch screen ordering system which is good for hot food mainly.  Most of the sushi was on display in the fridge.  Big branch.  I was busy at work but thought to eat out at lunch mainly because it was the last day before London went into tier 3 COVID-19 pandemic.  Wish I had not bothered!  The guy serving was friendly, service was fast and efficient and this is not directed at him.  He did lack a bit of common sense.  My chicken and noodle soup was presented to me but it would help if I had cutlery or chopstix!  Another guest asked the same.  He spent most of his time chatting to another member of staff or cleaning the behind the counter but what about the dining area!  Are we not in the middle of a pandemic?  They were not busy and there were enough staff who were purely lazy.  No sanitising between guests, floors were filthy with food.  This appears to be the same in most Itsu branches!  No track or trace.  Social distancing not managed properly with the communal tables!  Itsu have gone on about protecting customers and staff but it's because of places like this that we are in tier 3.  I am trying to support hospitality but how can we if they don't do anything to help themselves?  On the plus side the chicken and noodle soup was very good.  It was tasty, hot, healthy and filling but that's where it ends!

If the imprecation to “eat your veggies” holds tremendous appeal, especially at lunchtime, Itsu may be your place. This British chain from the founder of grab-and-go company Pret A Manger now boasts more than 70 branches in the U.K., with yearly sales reportedly exceeding $130 million as of 2016. New York’s newly opened Garment Center outlet on Seventh Avenue near 39th Street is the first outside Great Britain. It lies just south of a Pret A Manger, and the intent of this chain is to provide healthy, vegetable-heavy, “Asian-inspired” meals in a fast food setting, each under 500 calories. Like the food, the design seems to be “Asian-inspired”: The interior walls resemble the rice paper partitions called shoji, blond beams traverse the ceiling, and light shades hang in latticework styles. A number of seating options are provided, including gray stools and benches along slender tables and eating shelves, with some actual booths. On your left as you enter are the grab and go cases, vending sushi, salads, and gyoza. A counter at the end disgorges hot dishes ladled into cylindrical paper receptacles. A gorgeous display of purple orchids decorates one wall.

Good range of fresh food and nice, light layout. Only downside is the fixed stool seating
