Had the dining room and kitchen wall removed so needed extra kitchen units and new worktops throughout. We needed two quotes for different price worktops (units were same on both quotes). Paid for the units and went home to work out the budget for the worktop. We decided to go with the dearer Worktop and went to pay the remaining amount of the quote to be told it would be nearly £400 extra on top of the price they agreed in the quote No reason was given just they made a mistake. We had already paid half of the quote (a quote is a binding contract that we engaged in). My wife was really upset and left the shop as they would not uphold there side of the quote, still with no reason given why it was a mistake. I asked for my money back and they said they were having trouble with the handheld card machine. I was there for half hour waiting for a refund which I never received . I had enough and left for them to ring when the refund went through two days later. I have no problem with people making mistakes but there was no effort on their part to rectify the problem. What made it worse for me was the owner was in the office and it was a take it or leave it attitude. It is not the attitude I needed to solve their mistake and if there was a problem later with anything wrong with units / worktops, I felt there would be not much chance of getting it put right. Dan was very helpful with the units and worktops and although he did the quote I don't blame him for the mistake. I blame the owner for not trying to resolve the problem on the day.
