Like stepping into another world. Plush and ex centric. Vast array of paintings, sculpture and photographs everywhere (even in the loos) quite a few of semi naked or naked people. Amongst many other subjects. Excellent coffee and outstanding biscuits and cheese. Very carefully chosen cheeses beautifully served linen napkins. Not cheap but this place is special. Excellent service. Only negative is that turning right once inside heading towards what looks like a withdrawing room. There is a sudden step down which is easy not to notice. When I stumbled the reaction from the staff implied that this was a common occurrence. Something indication a step would be helpful

This place is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. everytime I want to go to a fair supper, this restaurant comes straightaway to my mind. fresh and varied food and a large menu.courteous crew, and pleasant mood. Also important, the charge is fair. I suggest this place with no hesitation.

The restaurant is unapologetically kitsch but in a brilliant way. They really rock it. Blue velvet and funky artwork gives what would otherwise be a very classical restaurant in a Tuscan villa a bit of character. Staff were friendly and excellent. Great wine list. Food is very good. Flavours and combinations rooted in classical Italian cuisine but a bit dressed up and done to a very high standard. The black cod was superbly cooked and was a particular highlight. Portions are of a good size so that you leave satiated but not overly full and don't feel heavy. I can definitely recommend this restaurant and will also certainly be back.

We have walked past this restaurant for many years and have never given it a chance due to its perhaps slightly tacky decor (book, cover, judge, do not). We dined as an evening walk in, a table was made available outside upon our request (a lovely space, reminiscent of Tuscan dining). The bread course and complimentary Amuse-Bouche was excellent. Our pasta main courses were near perfect, the Cacio e pepe being a particular highlight. The peach tart dessert left a little to be desired, okay flavour however the pastry was a little thick and the course lacked a bit of love and balance. The wine selection was excellent, the service was considered and proffesional throughout. A very enjoyable meal, we will no doubt be returning soon.

The ambience and service are great but the food wasn’t the best. Or, rather, it was all extremely uneven. Desserts were good as was the ragu but the prawn and monkfish tempura was incredibly overcooked, gnocchi weirdly hard (it’s not a food that is normally al dente), cacio e pepe had what looked like a bunch of cream... The baked eggplant on the other hand was good. Salad was mediocre. They also ended up charging for their own bottles of water that they refill. They’re not sealed. Not a lot extra money but they never mentioned it and it was weird that they charge for this. Especially because they refilled the bottle but it wasn’t full to begin with, and wasn’t refilled fully either! Of course you’ll need a few refills if each bottle is 1/4 full. Easy way for them to make money I guess but weird practice. Overall we won’t be returning.
