Fish & Shish

11th Sept: Tasty food, fast and efficient. Man at the grill served me. 5 stars on this occasion 12th Sept : Because the food was really tasty, I went back the next day. 1st, the 2 ladies at the till would not even allow me finish speaking, they just kept hurrying me along. I got home and they had missed out one portion of chips. This time around, the lamb shish was not as good as it was the day before. The chips was half the portion it was the day before. Never going back. 1 star on this occasion.

Fish snd Shish Hornchurch Road has just lost our custom. I went there earlier today (12/11/20) to buy a Cod and Chips for my 90 year old elderly mother. It was around midday and they only had two tiny Cods on the display. I asked for the slightly bigger one as I felt the smaller (which was the size of a large carrot) seemed to be all batter. When I got home, my mother commented that the fish was tiny and that it was all batter and very little flesh. She was shocked that they had charged me £7:80 for the order. She told me that I had been charged for a large cod but they had given me a child’s size. Before eating it, my mother suggested we weighed the fish and it weighed only 262g!! It was light as a feather and all frothy batter. I promptly took a photo alongside a standard fork and teaspoon for perspective. (See image) I live in Wanstead in East London and for £7:75 at our local, very popular award winning “The Lighthouse” we get a fish so big that cutting it in half would provide two LARGE portions of cod. This Fish and Shish place is daylight robbery! Never again! I’ll be driving a little further into Hornchurch Station Lane, next week to Angeli’s (who is the former owner of this place)for much better, honest value! Today was the last day any of my family will buy from this place. No wonder it’s so quiet. My son says their Doner kebabs are pure cartilage and gristle too!

Amazing food! Massive potion size! Deffo worth the money! I advise to go there! I had the doner kebab and it was cooked to perfection.

Since introducing Doner kebabs a couple of years ago, the quality of the Fish &Chips has gone down at this place. Tiny portions of fish for BIG city prices. Literally, three bites and the fish is gone. £8 for air basically. The chips are refried . Yuk.

Just had small shish kebab and chips lovely crispy chips and spicy kebab well worth a visit
