Very good customer service from the guys at the Wood Green branch. Needed to store my belongings for a few weeks and from the start of the process to the storing of it, they were great. Prices are good too. Would recommend.
Brilliant service! I did everything on line as covid and volunteering made it hard to visit. Emails were answered quickly and courteously. Storage and moving is always stressful and everyone I worked with from head office to the guys at the space were wonderful.
The staff were helpful, polite and quick to respond. On the day of moving out my property, the van man I booked had cancelled. Thankfully, the kind member of staff gave me some cards and I found a new driver (Wise Moves, who I'd definitely recommend for removals).
I don’t like to leave negative reviews however my overall experience so far is less than satisfactory.
The only reason that I haven’t left a 1 star review is that the guy who works there has helped me on a couple of occasions was very professional, friendly and helpful. However the lack of professionalism and attitude from the lady leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.
I reserved the unit and sent all of the pertinent documents the day before taking all of my stuff there. When I arrived I was greeted by the female staff member who told me that she couldn’t find my documents and I would have to re-send everything. After explaining that I had sent everything the night before and received a confirmation email of my reservation she subsequently found my ID, utility bill etc yet claimed that I hadn’t sent my direct debit mandate and would have to fill it out again. Instead of checking the emails she rudely insisted, that I hadn’t sent it, to which I forwarded the email with the aforementioned DD mandate a further two times.
She finally found it, showed me the unit and then proceeded to take the payment for the unit before giving me a copy of the contract to sign. I was given 1 page to sign and was then informed that she had emailed a copy of the contract to me for my records. Upon opening this email in front of her I discovered that the contract is, in fact, 9 pages long and not the one initial page that she had presented me with and that I had already signed. I raised my concern regarding the fact that in order for a contract to be legal and lawful ALL pages must be presented to the client so that they can make an informed decision , read all the terms and conditions and know exactly what they are signing. Otherwise this is considered as fraudulent misrepresentation. When I raised this with her she completely dismissed what I had stated with a “couldn’t care a less” attitude and continued with the rhetoric of “well I’ve emailed you a copy.” I then had to waste a further 20 minutes reading the entire contract to make sure that I agreed with, and understood what I had signed.
Upon asking her for a copy of the signed agreement she refused claiming that she had already sent me a copy by email. She then proceeded to go off on her break and leave me standing there, very irritated and annoyed. Thankfully, her colleague who is incredibly professional and polite gave me a photo copy of the signed agreement.
Today, I went back to the unit to take the last of my stuff and found that my padlock that I had bought the day I signed the contract had jammed and I needed to cut it off with bolt cutters and buy a new one. I went downstairs and saw the same female staff member. I explained the situation and she informed me that she couldn’t cut it off as the bolt cutters are too heavy for her and the only person who could do it is her male colleague who is currently on a break so I could sit and wait for him. To save time I informed her that if she loaned me the bolt cutters I can do it myself as I’m used to using them in the gym where I work as I often have to cut padlocks off of lockers when they get jammed etc. She proceeded to tell me that “I’m not capable of doing it as I’m too small and not strong enough to do it as they’re very heavy.” I found this incredibly disrespectful and rude, she has no right to tell me what I am and not capable of and to make a judgement on my physical strength or ability based on her perception of me is downright offensive and rude. Had she have said that she couldn’t due to health and safety I would understand, but to use my size as her reason is incredibly discriminatory.
She told me to go and look for her colleague who was outside in the car park and ask him to do it. When I couldn’t find him and came back and told her she decided to call him and tell him to come and help me. He was very helpful and polite. Hilariously, the bolt cutters are the exact same ones I use everyday at work.
I think the female member of staff could take a leaf out of her colleagues book and learn how to talk to people.
