Lovely place to visit in a beautiful village. Really liked how it was a nice and relaxing atmosphere, free to park and walk around and not hectic and over crowded like some other castles are in Wales. Would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely castle and village to walk through but castle not only closed but also flooded. The height and force of the river Monnow was also impressive.

We were able to explore the castle walls and see how it was rebuilt slightly higher than the original castle. We also saw the proximity to the river and realised how there was still occasional flooding. The river was full and running hard. Definitely not suitable for young children.

Very open and accessible but not suitable for the disabled. We climbed down to the riverbank and did a short walk. We also explored the church grounds. A nice end to the day.

Lovely remains of this castle. On a dry day, could picnic here. Good signs with some history about the castle. Doesn't take long to see the site, but can spend longer here just looking round in your own time if you wished. Free to enter, and some parking. Small church nearby.
