Hertfordshire pudding is unique. Yes it is a conglomerate but what makes it unique is that the matrix is stronger than the pebbles meaning that cracks go through the pebbles instead of around

A pudding Stone is a geological formation when new rock of form around existing stones and rock. It looks like concrete but is a natural formation. They were once believed to ward off witchcraft and we therefore used in the construction of buildings. This is a pretty big pudding stone and visible near the road.

A lovely historic old rock you can sit on it all day it's a wonderful place to look at all day!
