My experience of this tree today while out walking my dog was ruined. The culprit was a crazed lady who tore through the park with no regard for anyone but herself. She must have come from a very fancy party and had a few too many because she was wearing some very nice clothes, though i hate to admit it!

It is a tree made out of rocks on the ground. Did not disappoint

Brilliant history but Hyde Park is a dump!

The Reformers' Tree was an oak tree which became the focal point for protests by the Reform League, who were campaigning to give all adult men the right to vote (sadly, the womens' vote would come only later). During one protest the tree was set alight, leaving only a charred stump. This stump then became the rallying point for meetings and a symbol of the right of the people to assemble. This circular mosaic supposedly marks the spot where the original oak tree once stood and is made from black and white pebbles. It's a nice piece of history, but don't go out of the way unless visiting Hyde Park.

Historical landmark in a park. Ok if you happen to be walking by but not worth a special detour.
