Historic small building of three floors that has been converted into an art gallery. Friendly staff.
When I visited, the artist had protested his own exhibition (some time ago)
Peaceful setting in the park, ignored by too many people
This is what I like. This was a listed building. Probably still is. As a teenager (in the 1980’s), we used to play inside this. All that you see now, was not available to me. No stairs, no upper floors, just a derelict building of four walls & a roof with lots of pigeon visits.
So, what do I like? That something has been done with it, because the time of exploring old derelicts has past me by. I wonder if anyone found our time capsule.
I suppose other teenagers brought girls there. Now why didn’t I think of that? haha - too late now!
The wait was fairly long due there not being many people there at the time, but that wasn't a huge deal breaker. The only honest complaint we all had was that neither of our orders were 100% accurate. I asked for smothered tots and got smothered fries, ok we could live with that. Our friend asked for the fixing to be on the side due to them sharing the fish tacos and one had a food allergy and had them come out with everything on them. So no fish tacos for them, but at least they had the nachos to munch on.
Small gallery, but usually great art. Also the building itself is interesting to visit.
Recently visited the gallery for the first time, hoping to find a place to wind down and discover a new artist. It was completely the opposite as I saw the manager of the gallery shouting at a staff member who had dropped something. Immediately got a bad impression from this place. From what I saw seems quite poorly organised and staff are shouted at.
