Lovely staff, current covid precautions are excellent. Glasses fit well and aftercare always great if they need adjustments or such, very happy with service here all round

I am always so impressed by not only the efficiency and helpfulness of the staff in this opticians but also the atmosphere. It is so clear to see how well they all get on with each other and they bring customers into their conversations as if everyone is part of the staff team! I always come away feeling so satisfied with the service I have received. Special mention to Hannah, Amanda and the lady with short hair and glasses (I don't know her name but she is lovely too!)

A very negative experience at Albany Road. The curly haired lady who greeted me, treated me like my presence was a real inconvenience making me feel very unwelcome. I missed the pre-call to discuss my health information because I had worked late the day before, which she seemed angry about. I understand that it saves time on the day, but I had already completed a health questionnaire online when I booked the appointment which I assumed would be received by the relevant people. I was advised that the branch does not link up with the online services, so even though I had inputted all of my personal information to create the booking, none of this had transferred over to the branch. I only moved to Cardiff last year so hadn’t yet needed to visit an optician for an eye test. The lady was rude and abrupt asking for my address because I ‘wasn’t even a regular customer there’. As a customer I would not know that she didn’t have my information already if they had received details of the booking? I believe all it takes is for it to be explained politely. All I wanted was a routine eye test because mine was overdue, she then went on to explain that right now, appointments are only really for people who really need glasses or had been experiencing any kind of trouble with their eyes. Again, as a customer, I would not know this? I don’t know if I need glasses until I have the test done? I received an email from Specsavers informing me that they were back open, the online service allowed me to make a routine appointment and I was confident that the branch was operating in a covid secure way - so I did not see any issue with booking an eye test for myself? Perhaps an idea would be to interlink all online services to the branches so that the reach is extended and everyone is on the same wavelength. You can’t be mad at people for not being available at the exact minute that the pre-call is made, a voicemail wasn’t left either. I left the branch this morning feeling really disappointed and sad, she had really ruined my day with the way she spoke to me and turned what should of been a nice, simple visit for an eye test into a negative. I appreciate that everybody is going through stressful times right now, but kindness costs nothing and you should really re-evaluate being in a customer service role if you don’t enjoy dealing with people. Side note: The brunette optician who carried out the test was lovely, seemed genuinely happy to be there and provided me with helpful advice.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff at Albany Road. They saw me as an emergency and as a result I have received communication from the hospital who are going to send me an appointment. I suffer from macular degeneration and knew there had been a change to my eye. They were so kind, took the necessary scans and passed them to the eye clinic. Thank you, thank you and thank you. You are brilliant!! 🌈🌈
