Saxonbury Tower stands in a forest north east of the town of Crowborough, in the county of East Sussex in England. Saxonbury Tower was built as a folly (a structure without a particular use, built primarily for decoration), or maybe a lookout tower, by Henry Nevill, 2nd Earl of Abergavenny in 1828. It was built in the center of a late Bronze Age/early Iron Age hillfort, situated on top of Saxonbury Hill. the entire site is part of Eridge Park, the historic park of the Nevill Estate. Nowadays the interior of the tower is used by a telephone company. Another folly Eridge towers situated in the same park, is nearby. At present Saxonbury Tower can freely be visited but not it's interior. A nice atmospheric tower. Looks like a true wizard's tower!

Very nice that the owners had cut the vegetation down so people can get photos.
