Beautiful little castle! Me and my husband got married here summer 2019 and it was fantastic. The wedding planner for the castle was a super star 🌟 and made everything run perfectly despite the bride being delayed!! The castle will always be in my heart ❤

What a hidden gem. I discovered this place by chance when driving home from Kent. I was intrigued so I went exploring...... I was greeted by the loveliest reception staff and was directed around with an audio tour (which turned out to be free). I was taken around the area and inside the building. Inside, it’s large and has many layers of history that hide in plain sight. I was taken around a fun and interactive story which transported me back in time. Figures, lighting and displays really bring the space to life! The pictures are from the top of the structure and give beautiful views of the surrounding area. I finished off my tour sat in the sun with a nice coffee. What a lovely way to end my day. This place is great value for money and definitely worth a visit if you’re passing by!

Audio guided tour of Tonbridge Castle. An hour is probably as much time as you could reasonably spend here. On a clear day you get amazing views across the town and Kent countryside from the gatehouse roof - lots of steep steps to get there but worth the view. With COVID restrictions in place you need to book in advance but the advantage is, if you're lucky like us, you get to experience the internal areas all by yourself.

Set high above the river Medway the honey coloured stone glows in sunshine. A slice of our history it has stood guard over the river crossing for a 1,000 years. The castle lawn hosts open air events and is a lovely place to walk or picnic. There is a small shop with souvenirs. Walk through the gate house and see the grooves of that housed the portcullis, look up and see the murder holes through which hot tar could be poured over invaders. A must visit spot if you come to Tonbridge.
