I've had my fair share of roasts, but the Sunday roast here is up there. There is care in all parts of the roast, and the meat, gravy and sauces are delicious. The drinks selection is concise but quality with nice cocktails. Service and ambience was lovely too. There are nice outdoor areas with seating if you are willing to brave the elements. No complaints. Will return.
What a wonderful local find. Not only is the food superb the waiting staff are discreet and helpful. We watched as tables and chairs were thoroughly sanitised after customers had left. They wiped under the tables as well. A perspex screen was placed between us and a table a few feet away. We ate squid, steak, a supplement, on top of the lunch and early supper £16.90 two course set meal. The puddings were out of this world. Thus restaurant is also very child friendly.
Really nice place to go to . Surrounded by the countryside and is like a posh gastro pub. They do Sunday roasts and their speciality, steak. I went a few year back and its still just as nice. Good prices but, not cheap. Would highly recommend. If you are going to visit, you definitely need a car or uber if you are going to drink. Big portion sizes.
Highly recommend this place. Wine selection is really good. Servers are excellent with great knowledge of the menu, steak was cooked to perfection and their peppercorn sauce was the best peppercorn sauce I've had.
On arrival we were impressed by the efforts of the staff to make us welcome and create a safe environment. Glass screens were set up between each table and everyone wore their masks.
The quality of service was fine and all the food arrived to the standard expected. A good time was had by all.
Prices are not for those of a nervous disposition, but I am sure that is largely down to the rising cost of beef. Expect prices starting from about £50 per head inc service.
