Great experience for our children! We were a large party of people and were well taken care of, regardless of travel restrictions hampering our arrival. We planned to have lunch on the journey and stopped in Bala for food, but could have waited as the station has a great little cafe. We loaded up on coffee and tea so it wasn't a complete loss, but their cakes looked great!

Bala lake is breathtaking and on a clear day is stunning. The railway was a fun way too see the whole lake and the cute village at the other end! Train driver was also a delight and posed for photos!

A little railway but, in a big way, professionally run by a good selection of truly enthusiastic volunteers. They are true ambassadors to their common cause to make each visitor (whether little & young or big & not so youthful) happy by allowing them to be part of their big train set. Brilliant visit.

GREAT little railway. Very scenic trip up and down the east side of Lake Bala. Lovely little steam train. All carriages socially distanced at the moment (July 2020). 15 min walk from the station into Bala at the top end. Plenty of free parking down at the other (Llanuwchllyn) end so ... best to start there. Recommended

Really cute railway. Would recommend booking online in advance as it does get busy. Really nice for a single or return journey. Great way to look at Bala Lake.
