Very beautiful place to look around during the summer.

It's great as one can see the water wheel and the gear assembly easily. Good couple of hours activity for whole family. Lovely mill, lots of education and interactive points for children. Excellent staff and plenty of seasonal activities. A very interesting Mill with lots of history, also has a nice little shop... Good for kids too with a explorer trail to follow with a prize at the end.

Once again a good time spent at the mill, lots of interesting things to see. Watching the water wheel and the river was almost hypnotic Friendly staff, new cafe in the mill itself which is a big change from last time we visited. There were few soft drinks that children might like, but it looked lovely. If you want a coffee to carry with you, bring your own cup.

If you are in Winchester then this little place deserves a visit. I say little because it is rather small, you can be in and out within half an hour but it is still interesting. You get to see the mill working and have a guide talk you through the process as well as have a look at the water wheel downstairs (and have a look outside in the mini garden). There is also a quaint little café at the back if you want a little pit stop. All in all, not a bad place to visit if you are in the area and it is cheap entry.

It’s amazing that the mill still operates today as it sits on a piece of property that is 1,000 years old. They still make wholemeal bread which is for sale. Their gift shop is filled with all sorts of fun things like humorous cards, local body and hand lotion, hats, gloves, preserves, gin, Christmas decorations and candy. At night the otters hang out and can be seen on camera. They even have their own Twitter page. There isn’t much to the mill in terms of a visit but the volunteer staff are very friendly, full of knowledge and enjoy talking with visitors.
