The Small Removal Company

I used this removal company a days ago, led by a man called Robert, firstly he was so polite on the phone when I was organising him and his team picking up some furniture for me and other fragile belongings from my old flat. Great, reasonable prices, the cheapest quote I got. Also, his staff were so polite and careful with my belongings and got the job done much quicker than I thought, definitely the best removal company I’ve used. I even tipped the staff and called up the next day to say thank you again to Robert and staff, he was very gracious Overall, great company, would highly recommend

The guy who runs this company, Robert, came to see us and gave us a price, which was higher than 2 other quotes that we had, which I told him. He called me the next day and said that he would do the job and match the other quotes. On removal day, 3 chaps turned up (not Robert, he's an estate agent, and he obviously doesn't cart furniture about) and the removal went without incident. Some furniture had to go into storage, which they did at the time. I tipped the men £50 as I consider them to have done a reasonable job. It wasn't until later on that I found out that they had broken the glass and the fitting on a floor standing light, and 2 pieces of furniture had been badly scratched on the worktop. I tried on several occasions to contact this man Robert, but without success. When I explained what the problem was he said he would get back to me. He has since twice put the phone down on me, claiming that the job was done cheaply and he didn't want to know about it. He's obviously not insured to do removals and I would strongly recommend anyone not to use this company, as this chap's attitude to his customers is the most unprofessional that I have come across. They call themselves 'The Small Removal Company', but not to be confused by another company based in Harpenden with the same name. Avoid at all costs, as if anything goes wrong, he just doesn't want to know.
