A little piece of heaven, and a wonderful shop, cafe and service. The owner is one of the warmest, kindest people I know, and it shines through in all she does. Sadly COVID lockdowns have meant I can't visit at the moment, but I am longing to return. The owner has a rich background in counselling and poetry as therapy, as well as being a fine poet herself, and her partner is also a poet, and a kind host. Absolutely love this place with its vintage vibe and its generosity. Do check out their online shop, where my husband found some of my Christmas gifts. It is also a bookshop, where you will find books never seen in the chain bookshops.

this place is like heaven! I've watched it grow from a dusty old building with loads of potential, to a real oasis of books and gifts. The cafe is a delight, with hot drinks and cake that compliment your visit superbly. The hosts are cheerful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and 'at home'. I loved my visit and were it not for the current restrictions to all our lives, would have been back ages ago. If you love poetry, books and wonderful places, then you must visit.

Geography and pandemics may have kept me away from the Poetry Pharmacy, but I have ordered online from them a few times and the service was great and the turnround quick. I absolutely love the idea behind using poetry as treatment, and really enjoy dipping into the anthologies that the Pharmacy has published. And I've also been tempted by the brilliantly quirky gifts and ceramics ;) Basically the only thing I don't like about the Pharmacy is that it's 168 miles away from where I live... but I'm already planning a roadtrip in 2021!

Nice place well presented shame about the host who had a issue with my Husband who is of African heritage and one comment made in particular was very disturbing so it’s a shame we won’t be going back again, it’s 20th century and people do marry people from different backgrounds and colour so there was really no need for the comment from this person. Not what you expect from somebody who is originally from London such a diverse place yet they have not realised times have moved on. If I could rate this place a minus star I would due to this persons stone-age mentality.

Fabulous people, warm and welcoming. A real joy to visit. Wonderful selection of poems. What a brilliant idea. Thank you!
