We came here about 3 weeks ago, as the lockdown slowly eased. We were pleased with the precautions and safety measures put in place. A hand sanitizer was made available in the entrance, and staff also wore visors. None of those took away from the lovely atmosphere of the place and the staff were all very welcoming. We went for the taster menu with wine flight and weren't disappointed at all. We also had a cocktail to start with. The food was excellent with the first four dishes out if this world. While the final 3 were were very good, they didn't quite hit the levels of the first four. The mackerel dish and Tom's potatoes were our favourites. Each wine pairing suited the dish well also. I'd highly recommend this place for a special treat. In total for two people who had a cocktail each, 7 course taster with wine pairing and tea/coffee, the bill came to £300. For the service and quality of food, I'm sure I'll be returning again for another special occasion.

We have visited John's House a lot over the years and we have never been disappointed by it. By far our favourite restaurant, the service is attentive but not overly so, the food and textures are just phenomenal and unlike some Michelin star restaurants, it has such a homely and comfortable feel. The taster menu is worth splashing out on, although the 3 course lunch menu is also amazing and we do flit between the two. The staff are knowledgeable and the wine recommendations are always great! Perfect for a special occasion, I just wish we lived a little closer.

Had the fixed price lunch menu which was simply excellent. Top quality food, amazing variety of tastes, good service and all at a reasonable cost. Thoroughly recommended.

Always a pleasure visiting this lovely restaurant. The food is excellent. The three course Lunch is great value. But if you want to splash out they have a seven course tasting menu. The bread is amazing, think you can buy it in the farm shop next door. The chef and his team are very friendly and professional. They have all the safety measures in place for the current situation. Its well worth a visit. Enjoy 😉
