What a great place to visit. We were recommended to visit here by relatives who like reasonably locally. The whole site was closed for quite a while and following extensive refurbishment reopens in April 2019. The gardens are beautifully planted with many plant labels, the boating lake is not open with its cafe. The waterways themselves repaired and replanted..... If they re-introduced the original half hour boat trips you could be forgiven for thinking you were back on the haydays of 1928 when the gardens and waterways first opened, having been dug out by men returning from the great war. Very highly recommended 👍

Great place to visit, restored with the help of the national lottery and many volunteers, it's really good to see this open again after so long, they have done a great job and the boating lake is great fun and a café as well.
