I have gone here for years and always had a lovely experience. I want to shout out to Mohamed (sorry if I spelt your name wrong!). I went in the other day and when choosing my new glasses was allocated this lovely guy to look after me. I told him I'd recently come out as a trans man and he took it in stride, had a great chat with me, and helped me choose some frankly gorgeous masculine glasses that suit my face well. Thank you Mohamed, and also Mr Pandya my friendly and lovely optometrist, for always joking with me and making my appointments for my awful eyesight fun. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I visited here two years ago for a new pair of glasses as I couldn't find any frames I liked at my usual opticians, I had my eyes tested, and all seemed well. When I went to pick my glasses up, I couldn't see! So had them re made which were then fine. 18 months later the frames snapped in half, so made another appointment, my eyes were due for a test anyway, my frames had been discontinued so had to go for a completely new pair. Two weeks later, picked them up, and couldn't read (I have vary focals) they couldnt understand why, they put the reading prescription in the eye glasses they test your eyes with, and I still couldnt read, now that tells me the prescription was wrong, but they ignored my opinion, and said it was the prism, so they remade them, two weeks later I picked them up, surprise surprise, I still couldnt read! She asked if i'd like to book an appointment for a re test!! I declined and got a refund.
I understand everyone makes mistakes, but two pairs of glasses wrong!? The man I saw to start with didn't seem to have a clue, ignoring the fact that I couldn't read through my supposed prescription, annoying to say the least.
It has now been 3 months without being able to see properly as I'm using my spares, which are quite old, and I'm back where I started.
Will never use these again and certainly won't recommend.
On behalf of my mum: Yesterday, I went to opticians, and queued with a broken glasses chain and a lens that kept falling out, only to be told I couldnt be seen and to try a different branch. I was walking past Boots opticians and with no queue I rang the door bell.out came Mohamed in full P.P.E Itold him my situation- (the lens actually fell out as talking)- " give me five minutes " he said. Apologising that they had no glasses chains but that he had put a new screw in and tightend everything.Mohamed was so helpful, friendly, I couldnt thank him enough, he is a credit to Boots - im now going to book my next eye test with Boots and give the " speculative savers" the boot - thankyou Mohamed.
I am so disappointed with the service. I waited to get an appointment only for it to be cancelled twice and I still haven't got my eyes tested.
I wanted to use Boots for my eye test as I had used them in a different location.
However, a few days to the test I got a call from Boots to cancel the appointment because the Optician was on holiday (Not the kind of excuse you want to hear). I was understanding as I wasn't in a rush.
It was rescheduled and I had to wait one more week. As I was heading to appointment there was traffic close to the city and I called to alert them straight away instead of telling me that they only give 10 mins waiting time and for me to reschedule. I was left to continue my journey in vain as i was stuck in traffic whilst my appointment was cancelled as I called to update them on the traffic.
Boots was not flexible when It was the other way round. I felt quite upset for wasting my time and fuel (as I live outside the city).
I would not be using or recommending them in the future.
