Brimham rocks is sort of magical, particularly if you have kids with you. It has that beautiful initial forest area with so many rocks that you can scramble over and round with tunnels and nooks for kids to crawl through, plus loads of rock formations that you can only wonder about how they were formed. The facilities are basic, but you don't go here to be indoors - anything more than the coffee shop and toilets that are there would spoil it.

Disney's "Up" in real life - amazing! Have completed all three walks for different views. Can be very busy but still plenty of space. Different times of the day and different seasons make Brimham Rocks a place to visit more than once. Brilliant.

Two kids aged 8 and 9 loved it. Hard to keep up sometime. Hours of fun and exploring. Good walking shoes is a must. One minus - shop at the top open only till 16:00

Amazing place, full of rocky nooks and crannies to explore. Under normal circumstances it would have been a solid 5 stars, but giving it 4 because it felt uncomfortably overcrowded for a week day during a pandemic. It’s open space and people climb everything which is great fun, but I can’t help but feel like the lack of any social distancing information inside the actual place contributed to people just putting their guards down and getting too close to each other all the time. The spill over car park was open and free, so whilst a nice gesture, that might have contributed to the high amounts of people. Aside from the crowd, it is a beautiful, fun place to visit for a day trip. The kiosk didn’t have a huge variety of food, which is understandable, but they did serve beers, teas and ice cream. So just make sure to bring plenty of water and a packed lunch or snacks, and you can have a picnic on a rock top! If visiting with children, do keep an eye on them as the nature of the place means there’s random hidden gaps and sudden edges on the rocks and lots of nettles.

Amazing place, i have lived and worked in York for 49 years, and that was my first visit. Totally not what i expected, beautiful scenery lots and lots of hideaway holes and spots for having a picnic, great for the kids to expel there energy. Highly recommend for a day out to keep the children.👍 happy
