Staff inside the doctors are really good. I feel its let down by taking so long to answer the phones (1st in the queue for over 30 minutes) and the pharmacy is incredibly slow and makes mistakes quite a lot (giving out incorrect prescription).

AMAZING doctors surgery.. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. The pharmacy staff are great, patient with customers, friendly, very helpful. 😁😁😁

I caught covid last may and i work also for nhs,but during that time it was really very impossible to get to talk to my gp but in the end he was the most helpful person ive ever talked to,my difficulty was talking with the receptionist in this practice,the amount of times ive been calling them and this person who yells over the phone and ACTUALLY tells you to go to pharmacy and buy medicine is appauling! What on earth does this woman think she can actually tell sick people to do such thing?do they get training for talking with ill people over the phone?i mean we wouldnt ring the number for fun.it was a horrendous experience for me dealing with the receptionist,ive not felt so uncared for all my life and im also a nurse and looks after sick old people in the hospital.

Can't believe half of these reviews. I have mental health issues and my doctor has always been very very good at helping me. So are the other doctor's, to say they don't care about people with mental health problems is complete and utter rubbish. If these people with such negative reviews feel so strongly maybe they should just switch doctor's surgery's as there obviously never going to be happy with the level of good service, St James medical center provides. This has always been my doctor's and I would never move anywhere Elsa. I can understand people's frustration when they can't get an appointment or have to wait to be seen, but it's the same for everyone, no one is being singled out. Unfortunately St James medical Center is a very busy doctor's and I take my hat off to them for how many people they actually manage to see.

I have only recently joined this surgery, however I really can't rate them highly enough. In particular I would like to sing the praises of Doctor Upton. Let's start with the surgery itself: I've had three appointments. Two with the GP, and one with the nurse for blood tests. I've found them to be very friendly, helpful, and flexible in offering same day appointments around my work commitments. After my first appointment with the GP, it was decided that I needed blood tests. I had these with the nurse only an hour later...that's impressive! Oh, and I got the results only three working days later! Dr Upton is new to the surgery, however I can definitely say that he is an asset. For a start, he's human. I feel that he genuinely cares...and he's thorough. Rather than just assuming that I had something, and prescribing medication that may have been wrong for me, he wanted to rule out any other medical conditions first. I can say that I'm happy and healthy, and I have been properly reassured by a genuinely great service. Thank you!
