This is an awful surgery. The main Doctors who have been there a while are ok but you do not get to speak to them and are leaving the surgery. The receptionists are rude and full of self importance. (Not including Gemma who is helpful) Under these difficult times I can understand the pressure they are under as I am in my work but they need to remember they should remain professional at all times. If they are unable to do this they need to get another job.

My father just waited for half an hour to get through and the receptionist hung up on him!

Waiting on hold to get through for 25 mins is not ideal and then keeping getting cut off is no fun.

I am usually usually very happy with this surgery and my usual doctor there is the best GP I have ever had. He is kind, but I also trust him absolutely to pick up if something serious was going on. When he has been unavailable all the others have been efficient and understanding, I have recommended this place to those new in town. Today though, he not being there, I saw another doctor, and I so empathise with the poster on here referring to leaving without her dignity. I have just been through 2 months of beyond excrutiating pain coupled with a tragic bereavment and even so, not bothered the surgery at all using self help methods, patience and time, to try and heal, I believe many people would have rung up screaming for heavy duty painkillers. The pain was so bad and so continuous, it affected my mind I felt there was someone in my home with me, me and IT the monster pain creature. Today I asked for help and advice, politely and calmly. I was spoken down to like a small child and made to feel so bad about myself, unpleasant and untrue implications were made about me, on zero evidence I left in tears. My medication, put in place by a consultant ,was changed, without, what in my opinion, was a thorough review and the main question I wanted to ask was not answered. When I switched to my emotional devastation at a cruel bereavement the doctor started on about HER losses. The death was late last year and then I was very comforted by the advice and help from other doctors and staff at the surgery, who said 'come back to us if you need to any time' perhaps I am expected to have 'got over'it Anyone who has this sort of traumatic death in the family knows it casts a shadow for a long time. I am feeling very very upset. and weepy. I don't like to complain like this I am a great defender of the NHS and understand the pressures on it, this doctor was young we all have to learn. This though ,is not like someone learning to fix computers this is human life and happiness the wrong approach can lead to something very bad happening I would like to see better monitoring of young doctors. My advice stick to your guns and get an appoinment with a doctor who knows you
