Looks awesome. Saw a couple of f15's. Definitely coming back

I've been driving to Mach Loop from London since 2015 and most of my trips have been a total washout failure with no sighting of even a real feather bird let alone a fighter jet. Mostly due to the typical Welsh mountain weather that you cannot predict and with low hanging clouds and pouring rain, I don't think RAF risks flying low for training. So unless you're staying/camping overnight, or luckily at the right place at the right time, the chances are very slim. Also pray that RAF are in a good mood to put on a show then weather doesn't make any difference. Other than that, its a unique experience that no air show or flypast can ever match. I still cannot forget the thrill and adrenaline rush that I felt when the thundering RAF Typhoon flew over my head and knocked me over along my little camera. That explains the rubbish grainy pics below from my very first trip.

We hiked from our campsite, passing the car park just off the main road. Had some.lunch at the top but didn't see the jets come through while we were there. You need to be willing to spend all day up there to ensure a sighting at the planes can come through at any time between daylight hours. They don't have set times due to the security risk. We witnessed them coming through while driving down the road the next day and its worth going just for a glimpse and the view!

Great place to go, to chill out and see mil aircraft fly by during low level training. Be prepared to be blown by the wind, wet by the driving rain and happy at the brief sight of one going by. Cad west is cold and windy as you will be exposed on the ridge, cad east is more shielded from the wind, but a higher climb. The choice is yours 👍 enjoy.

Always wanted to visit this place, it was a bit overcast and damp when we rode down the valley towards the loop, as we were riding down a Hercules flew right over our heads about 100ft above, that was about it for the time we could stay but riding around Snowdonia that day we saw a few more planes. Will definitely go back.
