A small slate mine buried in the hillside above Harlech. It's nothing too strenuous, if you are average height or more you'll have to duck a little bit at the start and in few places, but they give you a hard hat and torch. The tunnels have lights but the torch is handy to see a bit more. There are notes in each cavern to explain the slate mine. There is a nice shop where you buy your tickets and can get the usual trinkets along with some slate themed items. The car park is quite small and is up a steep narrow track.

What a lovely place. Friendly staff. You're given your own hard hats and a torch and we had great fun. Good price. Our son loved it as their wasn't any forced history lesson/guided tour... Just read as you go and exploring. We were there about 40 minutes.

Loved looking around caverns. Good footwear needed . Hard hats and torches supplied. Not suitable for prams or pushchairs. Great cafe and little shop. Amazing views of the bay.

A eye opening glimpse of a time when the slate mine employees where treated like slaves, including children from age 10 years!

Good little slate Quarry where you self guide and wear hard hats and carry hand torches. Kids loved it and it provided around an hour of entertainment. Lovely views from the cafe, although we didn't visit it there is also a petting zoo on the same site.
