Great place, excellent staff #covidsafe

Decent but way too small and gets far too busy and crowded for such a small space. No chance of getting studio/mat space for exercises anywhere near peak times. Further note, despite ample notices of safety precautions being taken by the gym website, the Sunbury gym is overcrowded and seems to be following none of these health and safety guidelines. It's a free for all in there

I joined the gym 2 months ago and I am very happy there. The staff is great and very helpful. If you are interested in PT I will highly recommend my trainer Lauren Barnes, she is amazing .

It's a small gym but I like it and definitely one of the most cleanest gym I've been to. It doesn't get too busy in the morning which I like and also you can park in Tesco car park for free which is a bonus.

I've seen better and I'm only going there out of convenience as it's closer to home and because my partner is a member of the gym group in Cheltenham, (which is an absolute pleasure to attend when I visit her) which is far better than Sunbury. I've been a member of various gyms over 18 years of consistently going to the gym. I've been to gyms abroad while on holiday too, so I've worked out in many different gyms. I also have three years worth of experience of working in a gym. Sunbury isn't even worthy of being in my top ten. I cannot deny that it's clean, which is a requirement now because of the current pandemic. I will not comment on the staff as I haven't had any direct interaction with them. However my two star review is mainly to do with the bad layout. The free weights area downstairs is small, cramped and only has two squat racks, one deadlift platform and one bench press. I won't mention the Smith squat machine as it's not worth mentioning. There are not enough weight plates to accommodate all of the main compound lift areas. The only pull-up bars are the ones Which are part of the squat racks and the cable machines upstairs. There's also a pull-up and dip station downstairs but it's location is not ideal. However there's a huge amount of empty space upstairs where they could have fit two more squat racks at least as well as mounted pull-up bars on the pillars. The only upside to this poor excuse for a gym is the circuit area (where all the mats are). They also have kettle bells (only goes up to 20kgs) and slam balls (10kgs max) Another upside is that they have adapted well to the covid situation with various clean areas, sprays and cloths at various sections. One thing to point out though, is that wearing face mask is NOT mandatory in gyms as instructed by the UK government. However the gym group makes it so upon entering and leaving. I just find it extra when it's not a legal requirement.
