Wonderful staff and the vet was very understanding and we wasnt pressured into anything...very quick at responding to us and kept us informed.

Absolutely disgusted with this vets. Have complained to RCVS Also I have found out they are now part of a big group which is probablly the reason they are so over priced now and why the practise has gone down hill. They belong to a group of vets in York called Vet partners.-Have complained Their pricing is horrendous referal vets charged me 90.00 for meds same meds at Ashfield were 300.00.!!!!!

Wouldnt take any of my pets here again. There is a vet there that loses tests, and rings you up and tries to bluff his way out of it. Lost all confidence in the Long Eaton practice.

We've been with this surgery for 14 years. I don't know why I stayed. Benefit of the doubt or loyalty I suppose. It was time for our boy as the cancer had got the better of him. He was given 4-6 months but soldiered on past this. I had arranged for him to be there 6.30pm. We were told no one could go in to the surgery due to covid. Which we accepted. We were told that the rear yard was now used for euthanasia & and was set up to do so. Our Boy went in the front to get him ready. We were told to wait out in the carpark & we would be let in the back gate. He was lead out to the yard set up. We were then told only two ppl could attend, my daughter and my sister in law had come who had also been a huge part of his life too were refused. The yard is so small with a wall around it and barbed wire on the top. Concrete floor with dog mess just around the corner no one had bothered to clean up. A dirty blanket had been laid over a small soft bed. NOT what was expected. This is the part I'm most angry about. Our Boy sat down as asked. The vet asked if we were ready, didn't wait for a reply HE JUST DID IT! If I hadn't caught his head and shoulders he would have smashed his head on the step. NO time to calm him or tell him I was sorry or to make peace with the most difficult thing we've ever done. He was gone. We were allowed to stay for a while. You could hear the staff in the room behind the closed doors laughing & joking all the time we were there. As I said, this is hole in our lives which can NEVER be filled again & our loss is tremendous. More respect, compassion is needed hear. A proper respectful clean area for ppl is needed if your going to do this in the back yard. Move the fridge or cover it. Clean up dog mess. Clean the blood off the floor. We're totally disgusted, feel let down and disrespected. I'll never recommended you to anyone. I'll do my best to detere ppl from using you.

I cannot recommend Ashfield House highly enough. Their sister site Byron is closer to me and handle our cats and dogs, while Maria at Long Eaton (and sometimes Bramcote or Spondon) deals with my rats, and I have never begrudged the extra distance as it's well worth the time and effort. All their staff are warm, caring and professional, and very knowledgeable. They are dedicated to continuing their training while they work and seem to be constantly working toward new certifications across the team. They are accommodating and have always bent over backwards to ensure the best care possible for the vast number of animals we've had in the family over the last 30+ years; from dogs and cats, rats and chinchillas, all sorts of birds and reptiles. Veterinary care is an expensive thing, unfortunately, but I think their prices are more than reasonable, and we've always been able to agree payment plans when necessary, which has made all the difference to our pets. Their facilities are excellent, and I've had enough occasion to use their emergency services over the years to sing their praises in that regard as well. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service my family (human and furry) and I have received over three decades, and you couldn't pay me to try another vets practice.
