Awesome food amazing hospitality great location also right next to Next Theatre
If you went to Cardiff and just spent the whole time going between the two Giovanni’s, I wouldn’t judge you. Park Place is my favourite one and not just because it’s a shorter walk from my house, but rather because it’s a bit more spacious and so better for groups. The other is very intimate though, so it just depends what you’re after. The family-fuelled love, the fresh Italian ingredients and the passion for Italian cuisine is what really exemplifies Giovanni’s from other Italian restaurants. You only need to look at the pictures on the wall of Giovanni and every famous person who’s ever visited to see that he’s an involved owner.
Excellent location. Great atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and entertaining. Tasty food. Generous portions. As the portions are very generous the brakes between starters, mains and desserts should be properly staggered because they were served too quickly. People don't like wasting the food and with that tempo some of us we were leaving unfinished food because they were too short breaks between meals to allow digestion otherwise perfect.
Took my wife there for Valentines Dinner. We also celebrated 50years since we got engaged. Staff brilliant once again. Food to the usual very high standard. Special thanks to Francesca for messages of congratulations she did for us at the end of the meal. WE WILL BE BACK again and again. Mags and Jim xx
Celebrated my 60th in Giovanni,s. Great night, great staff!! Only complain was that the Ravioli main dish was a VERY small size for an adult. Definitely will go revisited in the near future 👍
