'MELDON VIADUCT' .......Which you can see from 'MELDON RESERVOIR DAM'.......The 'DAM' is as impressive as the 'VIADUCT'........ The valley cuts deeply into the terrain here, offering impressive scenery at 'SUNSET', casting dramatic shadows across the wild landscape. This you can see from 'YES TOR', as the highest 'TORS' on 'DARTMOOR' drop into the 'MELDON VALLEY'. It takes a good two hours to reach 'YES TOR', from the valley floor below, as 'clitter' is every where with the terrain being steep and marshy........ 'CANADA GEESE' frequent the reservoir island, the valley hills 'echoing' their noisy 'squabbles'....... 'DARTMOOR PONIES' can usually be found in the area. If you are going to walk to the other end of the 'RESERVOIR' then you should allow at least two hours, as spring waters cross the paths. It also takes a whole day of light to explore this area properly. Often considered by developers as being part of a northern railway across 'DARTMOOR', the famous coast railway at 'DAWLISH' proved to be the most cost effective route to 'PAIGNTON', securing the wilderness of 'DARTMOOR'....."MELDON VIADUCT ", " MELDON RESERVOIR".......Special Abseiling Events for those with a head for heights.........
