Bit pretentious. steak was pretty awful, not worth the price, menu isn't too great, no lamb,? no duck, ?
The menu that is advertised online as the current Sunday menu does not reflect what is actually on offer, instead of venison you are offered pork meat in the pasta starter, no rack if lamb, no hake, pork schnitzel which as far as I'm concerned schnitzel is fast food and not a Sunday lunch offering. In my opinion the menu advertised as current is extremely miss leading, and the reason we booked, what was on offer is an extremely poor alternative option, cheap ingredients same price, I would rather pay more for what is advertised as current menu than pay for fast food, I wanted to leave without ordering, I had to pay £5 extra for the sirloin steak as that was the only thing I would eat on the menu.... I had planned to have the advertised Hake... I know a menu is open to change, but everything dumbed down with the cheapest of ingredients..... Not value for money, no longer special, I can get steak anywhere...... Hugely disappointed.
As always, Great food and price on the fixed lunch was excellent..

Fantastic food every time. Never had a bad experience. Truly a very special place. Food heaven.
Delicious meal - Carmarthen ham to start followed by Hake then Eton Mess Knickerbocker Glory - and Covid-19 precautions were nicely judged - we felt safe but the measures weren't intrusive and despite the number of tables being reduced from 13 to 6 on the ground floor, the full restaurant retained a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
