Used Boots opticians in Chesterfield and up until now good service. Bought some spectacles with Transition lenses and had one of their staff check them out because I didn't think they were getting dark enough, he thought the same. Told me to see someone higher than him to see the next step, which I did this morning and all.she wanted to do was SELL me some more while they checked these ones out. I paid £450 for these I use now, and all she kept saying was you need a spare pair, only bothered in sales. I not happy believe me

Awful service. I originally bought two pairs of glasses, when they arrived only one of the pairs had the correct prescription in so the other pair had to be sent back and replaced. This took around 3 weeks and when they had arrived Boots rang an old number for me and not the one I had updated them with when I bought the new glasses. I eventually found out and arranged to come and pick up the second pair. I've now been waiting here in a fairly quiet waiting room for close to an hour. Will never use Boots Opticians again.

We visited Boots Opticians at the Chesterfield branch on Wednesday afternoon 27th October 2016 for an eye test for my husband. My husband is disabled and has not been well recently. From the start we were treat with the utmost courtesy, professionalism and friendliness. Gabriella, the assistant who dealt with the preliminary testing was exceptional and made every effort to make us both comfortable. Mark the Optician was also helpful, friendly and efficient without making us feel rushed. The whole experience from start to finish was most pleasurable. We thoroughly recommend this Optician.

Was told the appointment will take 25 minutes. In total the entire process took around 1.5 hours. I booked an eye test - making sure i didnt "tick" anything about contact lenses - The optician wastes 30+ minutes of my time trying to hard sell contact lenses. After this he starts to ask about driving, trying to hard sell coatings/tints, I tell him 3+ times i dont drive so he calls an assistant to help me choose frames - i'm left in the shop looking for frames while she sits in front of the computer for 20 minutes and when i finally ask her to help she ask's if the nose pinches on a couple of pairs. I'm blind as a bat, i cant see myself or the glasses in the mirror and i need to know if they suit me - the lady hands two pairs to me and says "just choose one of these two!". All in all i get home having been charged £400 for a pair of single vision glasses - £115 for frames, the rest for dispensing services - including Drivesafe, UVProtect and Duravision, none of which were discussed with me and were added to my bill (remember i told them 3 times i DONT drive) In summary - Hard selling & a lack of professional standards and ethics.
