Negligence from supposed doc James rid out. He needs to be rid out of the medical profession. He was extremely quick to prescribe me with antidepressants when I'd never taken any before based on no real assessment of me. I then proceeded to tell him that when I was feeling low I was at my most fruitful when it came to my creative writing. In response he exclaimed, 'That's bulls-t!' I was concerned that a professional of his status would use such language. I told him that he may find it bs but it was the truth. It just amazes me that someone in the medical sector of his position cannot see that the expression of the mind can be heightened through a creative means during depression and acts as a catharsis. Also his know-it-all, brash attitude to diagnostics is particularly worrying. Seriously check on this guy medical board.

Most of the receptionists don't seem to care about fulfilling their roles, nor satisfying the needs of the patients unless it is something absolutely urgent. This is a dangerous combination. The doctors and nurses, on the other hand, are incredibly professional and very helpful. Shame you have to put so much unnecessary effort into reaching them.

I am a student at Herts. The reception staff are dismissive, rude and quite clearly do not want to be there. Whilst calling the front desk to arrange appointments, you are spoken to as if you are wasting their time and a similar energy is conveyed in person. Such a shame as the doctors are very helpful (once you get in)

The receptionist are the rudest women I have ever encountered. They are unhelpful and incorrect with the information they give out most of the time. Over the past 3 years at my university they have been invasive, given attitude and have actually argued with me when I have been trying to get an appointment. I got told to phone at 9am for a doctors appointment and then 8:30am the next day, I have been trying for 3 days straight to get an appointment. The receptionists actually make it difficult to get a 10 minute appointment and treat students disgustingly. They decided to work half days over Easter meaning that on a Friday there are only 2 DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS for the 25,000 students that attend Hertfordshire. You can understand the frustration everyone must feel when trying to book an appointment with receptionists who simply don’t care enough to point out this issue to higher authorities seeing as they are the ones who I can only assume are having to let down many students every day who are unwell. The nurses and doctors are absolutely lovely and have always been helpful and caring - the work they put into UH students is amazing. It’s such a shame that the experience is ruined by the receptionists.
