There's a lot to see at this free site. The information boards give you a good feel for how the castle would have appeared. The history of the wars between England and Scotland is interesting. The castle keep is surprisingly intact and is impressive. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

The castle was a real surprise - from the road it looked as though there was only a tower. Wrong! Very much more and we'll worth a visit if you like to explore old ruins

Cycling through Norham we decided to stop for lunch at the castle. Free to get in, hurrah! A fair amount still standing, and useful information boards. A steady stream of visitors, but not crowded at all.

Nice steady walk on numerous routes around the castle, really interesting to look around and read the notice boards of how they lived hundreds of years ago and it's free -- open daily 10-4pm.

Looks great from the street, as due to lockdown the castle is closed...
