We booked as part of a large group with 15 families. Due to the current government guidelines this can not now be allowed so I contacted the campsite for a refund and they have refused. So we kept our booking. The campsite cancelled our booking and will not refund. They offered a voucher which we have NOT accepted since we can't use it as we don't camp usually. Additionally 2 others in our group who were offered a voucher (used as an excuse to not refund via dispute), who reluctantly accepted this voucher have been told that can't use the voucher and are not welcome. You can't trust Enbers to honour their word with your money. If they took your money for a booking and told you you were not welcome. That would not be surprising as it happened to 2 others in our group. Avoid! Edit: gift voucher offered. But not accepted at any point. Emailing a voucher does not indicate an acceptance particularly when a refund was the only acceptable outcome given Embers cancelled our trip. Covid has been a test of rough merchants. This is the worst of them. 2 others "have vouchers" that can't be used. Vouchers issued for 3rd party to adjudicate dispute and told that they are not welcome. This does not happen in the developing world. Hopefully nobody else has to go through this.

Excellent basic campsite with tasty fresh pizzas and small camp shop to keep you in ice creams. Lovely field with well spaced pitches and a great forest for kids to explore! We will return.

We (wife and two children) had the best time here. A lovely campsite. Great wood right next to it that the kids loved, good wash facilities, lots to do in the surrounding area. Wish we would have booked an extra one or two nights.

The toilets, showers and drinking water were all a long walk from our pitches. The pizzas mediocre, the icecream powdery. We hired a bell tent, it stunk of vomit. The whole setup was VERY basic, yet the pricing was very expensive. This is a case of expectations I suppose, for the price we paid for two nights I expected much more. I won't return to this site, and I won't be tempted to another Embers site based on this experience. We had a lovely weekend, but due to the company we were with. The facilities left a lot to be desired. Perhaps acceptable to hardcore campers, but not for us. Having said that, we chatted to a few regular campers there and they were similarly annoyed about the distance to the toilets, and how few there were for a campsite that big - only 3 women's cubicles on the whole site! On the plus side, the staff were very nice and very responsive to queries in person and via email.

Quiet campsite with big open space for children to play in. Woods to one side of the site are great to explore and for den building. Small shop on site for milk, eggs, drinks and ice cream. The toilet blocks are both modern and clean.
