I was shopping in Makro and they were having problems with their card machines at the tills. They advised the customers to withdraw cash from a machine in the store.
I went to draw £100 and received a receipt but no money. I spoke with a member of staff in the shop and was told that the cash machine is run by another company and to phone the number on the machine to contact them.
I phoned the only number on the machine which was an 0845 number. After phoning them, I realised that it was a premium number. Emailed customer service but they refused to refund the money for the phone call despite accepting that their machine was faulty.
I have written to the Ombudsman to complain about the 0845 number which should be removed from the machine.
Just another to boost their profit.
