A Slice of Reality is an installation by Richard Wilson which I didn't realize when I walked past. Although I did notice it, I didn't take pictures so I am so gutted. According to wiki, you can actually go inside so will take another look when I am next there.

Great piece by veteran British installation artist Richard Wilson. Very apt for the area.

A slice of reality is an interesting and unusual piece of public art. The artwork is a section of a ship, the sand-dredger Arco Trent. It's cut as a vertical slice through the section of ship containing the conning tower and bridge, including a section of the former living quarters of the vessel to the elements. The pool table is still there, though sadly not playable.

Starting to get a bit grotty. Could do with a bit of care. And why is the pool table inside ? I've never seen anyone in there although there is a cunning drawbridge ladder.
