Opened up a joint account today with my partner, and got seen to by Rani. Super smooth process, and they were absolutely wonderful and really helpful
I went to this branch as already holding a Barclays account - I wanted to open another account. Guess what? They could process my application because of IT outage! The lady helpful suggestion I do online - wrong! I subsequently found out all accounts applications require you to be in the branch! Very poor... It's dented my opinion of Barclays.
7/12/16 Update: A recent visit to Barclays Welwyn proved a lot easier with a very helpful staff member. Upgrading the score by one one star!
15/12/16 Update:Another visit to Barclays Welwyn finally made me decided to leave Barclays. I had trouble using the mobile app &, I called the Help Line which did not sort the problem out. They gave me a error code to take to the branch - I present this at the branch only to be told 'they new nothing' about the error code.
Absolutely disgusted with Barclays....
Visiting this branch was the worst experience with Barclays for the past 8 years! I was assisted for depositing the money (which was fine) then wanted to change my address while I was there. But the staff actually complained a bit that every time if they help changing address for the customers they need to check everything (before she complained, I did politely say that if it is not because of moving home, I could change it online but things are unpack yet. She said NOTHING after I said that!)... I mean REALLY?! This is the service the bank should provide and to make people's life easier and more convenient.
My experience with Barclays in London has always been great, but I was very disappointed today, and I am actually thinking of changing my bank (only thing I wanted to stay with Barclays due to its great service).
I did not argue and being unpleasant to the lady, as she looks older than my mom. Maybe it is not fair to blame her as there were only 4 staffs there, and it is in a town... Maybe they have less/no practice with high intensity/pressure work, too chilled with their life.
