I am an opera singer. So, a design museum is the most uninteresting thing imaginable to me. Therefore, when I discovered this place I couldn't believe how much of a fascinating Museum it is. This is the original mansion on Fifth Avenue which has lovely little parties in summer with champagne and everything under the sun. It is very sad that it seems to be closed indefinitely.

They have 3 open floors, and I was told on the reception that people usually spend here 1,5-2 hours. I spend 3 hours for just top floor, saw second floor on gallop speed and didn't check the first floor at all - it was SO interesting (I've visited the museum in August 2019 when there was eco-fashion exhibition).

The museum is great and very interactive. This is a great place to bring your kids. The staff was really kind when I visited.

Probably most famous for their infinity mirror room, many people line up hours prior to museum opening just to catch a glimpse of the infinity room. Free tickets/ reservations are booked out for the next two months which is crazy but also understandable since it is FREE indeed and a place where people can capture a breathtaking picture to instagram and what not.

This museum is the leading design museum in New York and one of the leading ones I'm the world . It's housed in a old mansion. Its worth going to the museum just to examine the building. Surprisingly even though it's a Smithsonian, there is a admission fee- it's not a suggestion it's a substantial required amount. However it's well worth the charge and a great museum.
