We stumbled upon this gem on our way to James Town. It is a wonderful little gallery showcasing the iconic photography of J.K. Bruce-Vanderpuije & sons (John & Isaac). With a heavy focus on portraiture, this body of work captures Accra of the early to mid/late 20th century. The woman who runs the gallery is named Charity. She is so friendly and knowledgeable, she gave us a great little tour. Entry is very reasonable at 10 GHS per person. This has been a highlight of our trip- we haven’t had good luck with galleries and museums so far. As an avid photography lover, I really enjoyed these beautiful works. I look forward to doing more research on these artists when I return back home.
