Great central location in Umeda, Osaka, where you can catch trains, buses etc to many other parts of Japan. Yodobashi camera, Hankyu, Daimaru and many other upmarket department stores and boutique shops all in close vicinity. Plus a plethora of restaurants and bars and small eateries abound.

Hankyu's "Kyoto Rein Masaraku" is like riding in Kyoto. The interior is wonderful! Eizan's "Hiei" is a one-car train with a unique design. Head to Rakuhoku on the two longed-for trains that you can ride at regular fares ~
