Blue Butterfly Restaurant & Cooking class

This place was recommended by the hotel. We sat at the upper level and there was a table set up for cooking class in another room. While we were waiting for our food, a big RAT ran across where I was seated. I informed the restaurant people, they seemed not surprised. I left immediately. Please eat here at your own risk.

Can't understand the good reviews of this place, by far the blandest food we've had in Vietnam in our three weeks here. If you're a tourist scared of the local street food, then this is for you, alternatively if you enjoy big flavors and experiencing local culture through food, save your money as it's the price of about 5 street meals per dish. The lovely ambiance and service got this place it's second star because it is quite pretty.

Nice quaint interior. A bit scary to climb up the antique stairs :-) I’m glad they preserved the old architecture which was said to be century old. Very warm service. The pho is as good as any other pho I tasted in Hanoi. The side dishes and drinks are great though. All in all, it’s a nice dining experience.

A liitle gem hidden in. the madness of Hanoi streets. Lovely staff who explained every course we ate. Set menu is perfect and left us full. Very good price. Grab a seat in ob the balcony if you can.... 😀

Very nice way to get acquainted with Vietnamese cuisine and customs. I had a great dinner at Blue Butterfly, the staff was also excellent.
